FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT FEES

Why did the County increase the fees?
Admission prices were increased to help with the rising cost of providing care for our 127 acres of gardens and 4 landmark historic structures. It has been 6 years since the general fees were increased, and 10 years since the senior admission fee was changed. Please note that fees also were raised to the same levels at Descanso Gardens and South Coast Botanic Garden.

Why is it being increased now?
These increases were delayed for many years because the County did not wish to raise fees during the recession and recovery period. Other County Parks Department fees have been increased in addition to those of the County botanic gardens.

What will you do with the additional revenue?
The Arboretum will be able to improve our gardens, education programs and overall hospitality for all to enjoy. New gardens and visitor events, and improvements to the historic structures are ongoing and will continue. The increase will help preserve the Arboretum’s treasures for future generations.

How can I enjoy the Arboretum at a lower cost?

“Free Days” are offered the third Tuesday of every month. Just be sure to pre-register through the Arboretum website.
