PROGRAMS OFFERED:  

Daisies: Outdoor Art Maker Badge

Daisies will discover the artistic side of nature the Arboretum to earn the Outdoor Art Maker Badge. Through creative activities that engage multiple senses, they will see the colors of nature, hear the sounds of nature, and create outdoor art of their own in the tranquil setting of the garden.

Daisies: Eco Learner Badge

Daisies will have the opportunity to explore the Arboretum to earn the Eco Learner Badge. They will learn the principles of Leave No Trace, learn how to be prepared for outdoor activities and to keep living things safe while doing so. This interactive program will highlight all of the badge requirements while interacting with the natural world!

Brownies: Bugs Badge

Brownies interested in earning their Bugs badge will spend the day becoming bug experts! The troop will draw bugs, learn the life cycle, see bugs in action, and explore insect homes! This in-depth bug program will show the scouts that bugs are awesome and an integral part of the ecosystem.

Juniors: Flower Badge

To earn their Flower badge, girl scouts will uncover the science of flowers, and explore the different flowers blooming at the Arboretum. They will complete flower art projects and learn about identifying flowers by their shape and time of year that they are blooming. Scouts will become flower experts!

Cadette: Tree Badge

Cadettes can earn their Tree badge at the Arboretum. While on a tour of the gardens, the scouts will learn about the science of trees and how to identify trees through observing their surroundings. We will explore the connection between trees and living things through art-based activities and we will learn how to care for trees while deciding what kind of tree we would want to plant at home!

Evening Hikes

On our Evening Hikes, Scouts will experience the Arboretum in a whole new light (or should we say, a whole new dark?)! We will weave our way through different biomes and learn fun plant facts while discovering the interesting ways nature changes as we shift from day to night, and exploring cultural stories humans have told to explain what they see in the natural world.

*Customized programs are considered on a case by case basis.  

*Programs fulfill badge requirements only- Physical badges are not provided by the Arboretum.

DAYTIME PROGRAMS- 1.5 hours

The minimum cost for our standard daytime programs is $150:
This provides a program for up to 16 people (scouts and adults).
Each additional person requires a $15 fee.
– Maximum capacity: 25 people 
– Refunds will not be issued for no-shows.

*Daytime programs are designed for Scouts and Scout Leaders/Parents only. We do not allow sibling participation in daytime Scout programs. Parents with siblings are welcome to visit the Arboretum during the duration of the program by way of general Arboretum admission and explore the gardens on their own while Scouts participate in their program.  

EVENING HIKES- 1.5 hours

The minimum cost for our Evening Hikes is $200:
This provides a program for up to 16 people (scouts and adults).
Each additional person requires a $20 fee.
– Maximum capacity: 25 people 
– Refunds will not be issued for no-shows.

*Evening Hikes can accommodate siblings. 

BOOKING A PROGRAM

When you have CONFIRMED dates you know your troop can attend, please complete the Scout Programs Request form HERE to schedule a program. A team member will reach out within a few days to confirm or discuss your request.
