Herbs for Natural Beauty
About This Event
Herbs for Natural Beauty
April 15, 2023 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
The botanical world offers us so much when it comes to radiant skin and natural beauty. In this fun, hands-on class we will explore the world of botanical beauty through the ritual of the home day spa. We will take a holistic approach to natural skincare as we discover ways to incorporate the beneficial qualities of plants into our beauty routine. Our discussion will include how to make facial steams and which herbs are best for different skin types. Participants will prepare and apply their own four-part botanical facial – composed of a softening floral scrub, deep-cleansing mineral masque, aromatic toner and botanical infused cream. Come be inspired to create your own herbal day spa with plants found in the garden!
About the instructor:
Irena Cora Stathis is an Herbalist, Flower Essence Practitioner and founder of the Flowering Earth School of Herbalism (www.floweringearthschool.com). She specializes in women’s health, self-care practices, natural beauty and preventative wellness. She handcrafts botanical beauty products, herbal teas, extracts, essences, and balms from the plants in her garden and those that she carefully tends in the wild. She also offers monthly workshops at the Los Angeles County Arboretum, online classes and plant walks in the LA area.
Irena is passionate about all aspects of women’s health from menarche to menopause. After working with many women in her herbal practice for over a decade, she was inspired to create the Herbalism Course for Women, an immersive, hands-on program based in self-care practices, herbal wisdom and body awareness.
Her classes explore the many pathways of healing with plant medicines via our own personal connection to the plants and the Earth.
