Australia & Fire Ecology Walking Tour

About This Event

Early California settlers were amazed at the versatility of Australian trees and how they seem to thrive in California. They were used for blocking the wind, shading and for timber.  Unfortunately, many of these trees came at a heavy price that only recently we’ve been aware of:  they can be explosively flammable. Frank McDonough, Botanical Information Consultant, will talk about choosing beautiful Australian plants that are less likely to be pyromaniacs.
