We will be discussing common herbs found in the kitchen that support immunity, helping us become more resilient through the winter season. Many culinary herbs not only add flavor and spice to our food, but are truly powerful healing herbs with rich cultural histories and diverse medicinal uses. These well-known plants often get overlooked perhaps because they seem too commonplace to be magical, but they are full of beautiful and complex chemistries, each offering their own unique gifts to heal the body from stimulating circulation and supporting metabolic pathways and detoxification to enhancing digestion, they are deep nourishers that can strengthen our vitality and even help us fight off infection.
The zoom link will be emailed to registered participants 24 hours before the class. Please prepare at least one fresh culinary herb listed below to work with during the webinar: rosemary, sage, thyme, oregano, turmeric, ginger.

Irena Cora Stathis is an Herbalist and Educator specializing in self care, natural beauty, herbal foods, and preventative wellness. She handcrafts botanical beauty products, hydrosols, herbal teas, extracts, essences, and balms from plants in her garden and those that she carefully tends in the wild. She teaches workshops on the Art & Craft of Herbalism at the Los Angeles County Arboretum in Arcadia and she will be offering new classes online this year as well as some limited attendance, outdoor plant explorations.
Last year, she founded the Flowering Earth School of Herbalism with a 10-month Immersion; a hands-on, experimental-based program which explores the many pathways of healing with plant medicines via our own personal connection to the plants and the Earth. To find out more about her workshops and future offerings, follow her on Facebook: Abalone Herbals, Instagram: @abolonerherbals or you can email her at aloneherbals@gmail.com.
Irena is ever grateful to her teachers, mentors, and friends who have generously shared their vast knowledge and understanding with her and many others, for all the people who came before and have passed down their teachings and traditions, and to the beautiful, wild, and selfless beings who offer up their healing wisdom and medicine, the plants themselves.
