Centered around one of the most biodiverse gardens in Crescent Farm, this hands-on workshop explores simple ways to create habitat in an urban environment like Los Angeles. Learn how thoughtful plant choices, water, shelter, and other small features can support birds, pollinators, and beneficial insects—even if your garden is limited to a patio, balcony, or a few containers. No yard required!

Crescent Farm began in 2015 as a compacted, nutrient-depleted lawn. Today, just under an acre has been transformed through thoughtful topographical design to slow, spread, and sink water, rebuild healthy soil, and support thriving biodiversity. With a focus on water, carbon sequestration, and habitat, it stands as a living example of a regenerative landscape in action.

The mission of Crescent Farm—and workshops like this one—is made possible through the support of generous grant funding. These contributions ensure that the knowledge, conversations, and access to this unique garden space remain free and open to the community.
