Engelmann Oak Grove Guided Walk

Located in Tallac Knoll

Tours at 10am, 11am, 2pm

In celebration of National Arbor Day and the Arboretum’s 75th Anniversary, Jim Henrich, Curator of Living Collections, will lead this special walk.

Engelmann oak trees are native to the Arboretum’s site. The species is not only endangered, but our population of trees is aging. During this tour you will learn about the history and biology of Engelmann oak, its endangered status, and our conservation management program that will insure its welfare into the future.

Space is limited to 25 participants per time slot.

Members – This tour is free, but tour registration is required.  Please sign in and select your free ticket. Registration required.

Non-members – Tour registration includes paid admission.  Please show your ticket when you enter. Register here.

Tour starts promptly at the designated time at the top of Tallac Knoll.  It is approximately 1 mile from the North entrance to the top of Tallac Knoll with an incline from the Rose Garden.  A shuttle will be available from the North and South entrances.  Please come early if you need assistance.   Wear comfortable walking shoes.

Tours are scheduled for 10am; 11am and 2pm.  Pre-registration is required. Click here for tickets
