Yes – you read it right!

Don’t consider yourself a writer or storyteller? Think again!

We live in the delicious time of the food blog, food memoir, and the narrative cookbook.

If you ever wanted to try your hand at cooking up your memories, recipes, and history relating to food – please join us for this three-hour introductory writing workshop.

PLEASE BRING a recipe or cookbook that belonged to someone you loved who is no longer with us; what you bring will be the main ingredient in your personal writing about food. The greasier the pages, the more loved the recipes — and writing is a way to honor those who nurtured you.

The instructor: Paula Panich has been writing and teaching about food and food history for two
decades (and using old recipes too).

She is the author of several books, including the yet-to-be published The Cook, the Landlord, the Countess and Her Lover, a book of culinary essays, some of which have been published in the literary journals Alimentum and the Writing Disorder, as well as in Gastronomica and the North American Review. She has also contributed to the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, and other newspapers and magazines. She has written books, including Cultivating Words, a book about nonfiction writing. Please see www.theliterarygardener.com for details.
