Pollinator Gardens with LA Arboretum Foundation Gardener, Roger Carlson.
We’ll discuss what to look for when creating a pollinator-friendly garden, the effects pollinators have on other microenvironments/biomes in the vicinity and recommend some beginner-friendly plants.
The class will meet outdoors at our Monarch Waystation where the pollinators include monarch butterflies, gulf fritillary butterflies, mourning cloak butterflies, geranium plume moths, mydas flies, and hoverflies. Some of the host plants we’ll be covering are coyote mint, quaking grasses, milkweed, globe mallows, and ceanothus.
