Join food preservationist, Brie Wakeland, for a workshop on how to make your own fire cider and elderberry syrup.

Fire cider is a tonic produced by steeping citrus, ginger, garlic, onions, horseradish, turmeric, peppers and more in apple cider vinegar for a minimum of six weeks. A sweet and tangy tonic, fire cider has been used for many decades to prevent and fight off colds and flu, boost the immune system, and includes many other health benefits. It is also one of the very few medicinal herbal tonics that can be easily made by using nature’s most powerful ingredients. Learn how to create one of the most effective herbal remedies that the whole family can reap its amazing health benefits!

Elderberry and its syrup derivative have been vastly explored as a natural remedy for various health conditions, including the flu, the common cold, and diabetes. Learn more on the berry compelling elderberry benefits and how to prepare a delectable elderberry syrup.

An ingredients and materials list will be sent out before the class. A Zoom link will be emailed to registered participants 24 hours before class begins.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
The Los Angeles Arboretum Foundation reserves the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the class non-viable. If the Arboretum cancels a class, registrants will be offered a full refund. There are no refunds for cancellations within 7 days of the start of the class. For all other cancellations, your payment will be refunded minus a 10% processing fee.

*LATE ARRIVAL POLICY: Refunds will not be granted to registered guests who miss the class due to tardiness.
