Kids Corner: Living Necklaces

Do you know you can wear a greenhouse as jewelry? Come make your very own living necklace to wear and grow on your body! You will select seeds of your choice to grow, decorate the chord with solar beads, and create a colorful soil pot to eventually plant your sprouts in at home! Throughout the week while wearing the necklace, you will begin to see your seeds sprouting in response to your body heat, and monitor the amount of sunshine your sprouts receives by the changing colors of your beads. This activity is easy and fun for the whole family, and a great opportunity for continued scientific observation as you track your seeds’ progress in the days that follow. You can even have a friendly competition to see whose seeds sprout the fastest!

Cancellation & Refund Policy
The Los Angeles Arboretum Foundation reserves the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the class non-viable. If the Arboretum cancels a class, registrants will be offered a full refund. There are no refunds for cancellations within 7 days of the start of the class. For all other cancellations, your payment will be refunded minus a 10% processing fee.
