Discover the do’s and don’ts of choosing the perfect tree for your yard or public space! Certified arborist Jerrold Turney will walk you through all of the considerations of tree selection including size, fruit-bearing potential, shade, hardiness, and pest/disease resistance. Dr. Turney will demonstrate optimal planting & maintenance practices to ensure strong growth for decades to come.

Dr. Turney has served as the curator of the camellia gardens at the Huntington Library and Botanic Gardens, a research horticulturist at the Los Angeles County Arboretum, and is currently the plant pathologist for the Department of Agricultural Commissioner/Weights and Measures for the County of Los Angeles.
