A building permit is now required for some landscaping projects. The statewide Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance (WELO) is designed to limit the amount of water used on landscapes. Although in effect since 2015, compliance is now being enforced by each city/county building department in the state. Not all projects need to comply. Generally, Re-landscaping projects over 2500 square feet, and new building/landscaping projects over 500 square feet must meet the WELO standard. This workshop will cover the basics of complying with the ordinance. Topics will include project applicability, who can submit documents, what documents are required, and a review of the calculations needed. This workshop is for anyone planning to install an applicable landscape including home owners, building, landscape, and pool contractors, and garden designers.

Cost

$25 members per class
$35 non-members per class (includes Arboretum Admission)
