Pacific Rose Society Monthly Meeting
About This Event
World famous amateur hybridizer Chris Greenwood will be the featured speaker at the Thursday, May 4; 8pm monthly meeting of the Pacific Rose Society. Free in Ayres Hall.
Chris will be presenting a brand-new PowerPoint program that delves deeply into the subject of plant nutrition, those valuable elements that are “In the Bag” of the best fertilizers. Should anyone wish to become a Consulting Rosarian, they will find this information to be priceless. Chris will discuss the “Big Three” elements of nutrition (Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium), but also notes that there are thirteen additional elements that are required for healthy plant growth including Calcium, Magnesium, Sulfur, Iron, Manganese, Copper, Zinc and many more. Chris categorizes these nutritional elements into two groups – macroelements and microelements, and discusses along with photos how to spot and correct their deficiencies.
