4-part Regenerative Garden Design Course
About This Event
Please call 626.821.4623 to register.
Think about your favorite garden spaces and imagine creating and implementing that vision at your own home or community. At the same time, ponder how you could be more sustainable in your design and realize a way to help nature regenerate through your landscape.
Join landscape architect, contractor, arborist and climate activist, Shawn Maestretti for a four part garden design course for an in depth journey through regenerative concepts and practices. Students will learn the principles and elements of design, how to capture rainwater, nurture living soil, design with native and climate-appropriate plants, re-purpose materials to reduce your carbon footprint, implement permaculture techniques to reduce green waste, and much more. It is possible to have a beautiful, well-orchestrated and truly regenerative landscape, we just need to push through a few barriers first.
This course is for everyone, homeowners and landscape professionals alike. We ask that you come with enthusiasm and an open mind. Students are suggested to attend all 4 classes.
Shawn is a designer, plantsman, licensed landscape architect, certified arborist, licensed landscape contractor, and educator. His unique background combines extensive horticultural experience, strong composition skills, and environmentally-sensible practices with a wide palette of visually and textually interesting California-friendly plants —breathing new life and a sense of place into every garden.
