Sound Bath

Program Details

Join us in the garden for an immersive outdoor sound bath, where gentle vibrations weave through the natural surroundings. Surrounded by plants, fresh air, and shifting light, this experience invites you to slow down, soften your awareness, and settle into deep rest. The garden setting enhances the practice, grounding the body and senses while offering space for reflection, restoration, and quiet connection.

What Is Sound Bath:
A sound bath is a meditative experience in which participants are “bathed” in sound waves created by deeply resonant acoustic instruments such as singing bowls and gongs. Rather than listening to music, you are immersed in vibration, allowing sound to move through the body and nervous system. As the tones unfold, tension may gently release, the mind may quiet, and a meditative state can emerge—often leaving participants feeling reset, clear, and refreshed.

This class is recommended for ages 10 and up.

Class Details:
-Dress for the weather.
-Apply sunscreen and insect repellent as needed.
-Silence your phone.
-Please bring your own mat, blanket, or towel to lay on.
-Class location subject to change due to weather.

Day of Details:
-Please arrive with ample time to find parking, as weekends can be busy at the Arboretum.
-Check in will be at class location, which is about a 10-minute walk from the entrance.
-The class is held in the Meadowbrook area, near Kallam Perennial Garden and Turtle Pond,
-Due to the meditative nature of the late arrivals will not be able to join the class as it can be disruptive to the experience.

Cancellation/Reschedule/Refund Policy:

Cancellations or reschedules must be requested in advance of one week prior to the program start date in order to qualify for a refund or reschedule. Cancellations or reschedules requested within 7 days of the class start date will not qualify for a refund or reschedule. The Arboretum does not offer credit or reschedules for tardiness or missed classes. If you are unable to cancel within the required refund window, please consider your program fee a donation to the garden. Your registration confirms your understanding of and agreement with this policy. 

Originally from Mexico, Jacinto Astiazaran is a visual artist and seasoned sound bath practitioner with over ten years of experience in both private and public settings. His minimalist, no-frills approach to sound waves creates a calming space where participants can unwind, reset, and leave feeling renewed.
