Wild Energy
Located in The Forest
About This Event
Wild Energy is a multi-channel sound installation that gives access to the often-inaudible vibrations and energies in the world around us. Set in the Arboretum’s Forest, Wild Energy features scientific recordings of phenomena including radio waves, solar flares, hydrothermal vents, and bat and whale echolocation to bring them into the human audio range in this immersive installation.
Wild Energy is presented as part of Energy Fields: Vibrations of the Pacific, co-presented by Fulcrum Arts and Chapman University. In-kind support generously provided by SOLARPUNKS and Heardrum. Energy Fields is presented as part of Getty’s PST ART: Art & Science Collide.
PST ART: Art & Science Collide
Wild Energy is part of PST Art, a Getty initiative. Southern California’s landmark arts event, PST ART (previously Pacific Standard Time), returns in with 800+ artists, 70+ exhibitions, and 1 mind-blowing theme: Art & Science Collide. In partnership with museums and institutions across the region, this is one of the most expansive art events in the world. This “collision” will explore the intersections of Art and Science, both past and present, with diverse organizations activating exhibitions on topics like ancient cosmologies, Indigenous sci-fi, environmental justice, and artificial intelligence. PST ART: Art & Science Collide will share groundbreaking research, spark lively debate, and provide thought-provoking lenses to explore our complex world.
