Arboretum Bird Check List
The Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden serves as a sanctuary for many species of resident, migratory, and visiting birds. This 2021 list is based on the latest American Ornithologists’ Union’s Checklist of North American Birds and includes 260 species seen at the Arboretum since records have been kept (1940’s). Birds which are commonly seen, depending on the season, are shown in bold face type; introduced species have the letter (I) after the common name.
