Vendor FAQ’s

Q: Is this event outside? Is it fully shaded?

A: Yes- the event is outdoors, on the Historic Lawn at the Arboretum (on grass). There is some shade, but you may want to bring your own canopy to ensure full shade all day.

Q: Will vendors be able to drive on the grounds in their personal vehicles to set up and break down?

A: Yes. Vendors who need to drive to the event location must arrive to the South parking lot no later than 7:30 am to line up. Vendors will be escorted to the side of the event lawn closest to their booth. To make the process as smooth as possible, vendors are asked to unload, then park in the Depot parking lot before setting up their booth. Vendors may not drive on Arboretum grounds without an escort. All unloading must be completed and vendor vehicles must be moved to the Depot Parking Lot by 9:00 a.m. at the latest. Any vendor arriving after 9:00 a.m. will not be permitted to drive to the event location but may bring items in by cart or wagon (not provided) from the Depot Parking Lot

Q: Can vendors use carts or wagons to bring their items in?

A: Yes. Vendors who have simple setups and do not need to drive to the event location are encouraged to bring carts or wagons and walk to the event location from the nearby Depot parking lot. The Arboretum will not provide carts or wagons.

Q: Do vendors need to break down on Saturday even if they will be back Sunday?

A: Vendors participating on both days of the weekend may leave their tablescanopies, etc., overnight, but do so at their own risk. We strongly advise you to remove your merchandise at the end of the event. The Arboretum accepts no liability for damage to, or theft of, any items left overnight.

Q: Will the event be held if it rains?

A: In the event of inclement weather, public health crisis, fire, storm, national emergency, or other “act of God”, this event will be cancelled

Q: Will power be provided, and if not, are generators permitted?

A: The Arboretum does not provide electrical, telephone, water, or drainage services to vendors. Generators are not permitted at this event.

Q: Do attendees need to purchase tickets to this market?

A: The market, along with all the festivities around the market, is included with Arboretum admission/free to Arboretum members. Tours of the Queen Anne Cottage require a ticket, which must be purchased separately. Vendors do not need to purchase Arboretum admission to participate.

Q: Can vendors bring in food/coolers for personal meals and use?

A: Yes. Although picnicing is not allowed at the Arboretum, vendors are welcome to bring food/beverages for personal meals during the event. All food must be kept away from wildlife, and trash should be disposed of in designated trash cans.

Q: How many vendors are participating in the event?

A: It varies from weekend to weekend, but it ranges from 30 to 37, depending on the day.
